Amanda is originally from South Africa and has over 13 years of experience working in the sports and fitness industry.
She trained as a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist with the renowned London School of Sports Massage (LSSM) and achieved a first class pass on a Level 5 BTech qualification, which is the current highest qualification achievable in the United Kingdom for Soft Tissue Specialists.
Amanda has proudly, for the past two seasons, worked within the Medical Team at AFC Bournemouth as a sports massage therapist for the First Team, and has now taken a step back from this role to focus on the business bringing with her a wealth of knowledge gained working as part of the medical team in a Premier League environment.
Amanda says “working at AFC Bournemouth has been a great opportunity for me, enabling me to enhance my skills as a Physical Therapist within a Premiership Environment primarily based on injury, rehabilitation and the nutritional sciences and has given me the opportunity to work alongside a fantastic medial team, which has benefited both myself and my clients.”
There are so many benefits to having regular massage therapy and key rehabilitation techniques to get the body back to its natural state of balance. Clients present with a variety of aches and pains: whether they’re sat at a desk all day, or have a manual job, to suffering with Fibromyalgia, or recovering from a stroke or injury. Manual Therapy, soft tissue work and deep tissue massage alleviates aches and pains in the body. We also provide rehabilitation advice to our clients so they can then continue to rehabilitate themselves at home long term.
Amanda is a BodyMOT certified coach, providing clients with an in depth view of their overall health through a series of diagnostic tests which then gives clients the tools to achieve optimum health. If a client consistently presents with ongoing pain that is not muscular-skeletal then we carry out very specific diagnostic tests to ascertain what is the “driver” for the inflammation in the body and the cause of the potential joint pain, what lifestyle changes could benefit the client to help relieve the inflammatory response in the body and what recovery methods would be best to bring the body back into a healthy state of balance.
